Butterfly

You were a nearly lifeless egg,
finally hatched.
You have spent much time as a worm,
nibbling leaves.
You rested so long as a stone,
watching time.
Now you have wings and colour,
fly off into world!

This (former) caterpillar was one of many found on a cultivated lime; those mini "orange" plants usually sold during Chinese New Year. I suspect it is a Common Lime Butterfly.
